HYDROPHOBIC IMPREGNATION

Permanently dry
and clean surfaces.

Compatible impregnation protects against water and dirt, gives the treated surface a new three-dimensional look and extends the service life of the surface material.

PROBLEM

A porous surface absorbs water.

SOLUTION

Matt impregnation that lets the material breathe.

It repels water and dirt while preserving the natural appearance and water vapour permeability.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FAQ

How long does impregnation last?

A high-quality hydrophobic impregnation usually protects the surface for 5 to 10 years, depending on the material, its absorbency and weather exposure. After this period, we recommend an inspection and, if necessary, renewal of the protective layer.

Will the appearance of the surface change?

No, we use a matt, colourless impregnation that does not form a film or gloss. The surface retains its natural appearance, texture and water vapour permeability.

Is impregnation suitable for historic buildings as well?

Yes, vapour-permeable impregnation is also suitable for historic masonry and stone, but always after a sample test. For heritage sites, we consult the procedure with the heritage office and a restorer.

How is a treated surface maintained?

Occasional rinsing with water or low-pressure washing without aggressive chemicals is enough, as dirt does not bind to the surface as strongly. After a few years, we recommend an inspection and, if necessary, renewal of the impregnation.
