FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FAQ

Is laser cleaning suitable for all heritage sites?

Laser is suitable for most stone, metal, stucco and wood, but some pigments, polychromy or fragile materials require caution. We always verify suitability with a test cleaning on a small area.

Is a permit from the heritage office required?

For cultural monuments, yes – the work must be approved by the regional heritage office, often on the basis of a restoration plan. We can help with preparing the documentation and we work with restorers.

Can the laser damage a historic surface?

With correctly set parameters, the laser removes only the layer of dirt that absorbs the energy, and the original surface remains intact. We fine-tune the parameters according to the material and the test result.

How long does cleaning take?

It depends on the scope, complexity and degree of soiling – smaller elements can be done in one to two days, entire façades in several weeks. We set the exact schedule after a site survey and a test cleaning.
